Press Release

May 2004

This is in response to the letter received from the State of Tennessee Department of Human Services ordering Pastor Harold J Frelix Sr. of the Priest Lake Community Baptist Church, to Cease and Desist Operation of the Priest Lake Bible Camp.

The facts are:

The state incorporated us as a church.

Our understanding of the US Constitution says that the state will not involve itself unduly in the affairs of the church.

Our operations have been required to shut down teaching our little ones our faith because we refused to be labeled "Day Care" and licensed as such.

Understanding that the state must require safety, sanitation, a mentally and physically healthy environment for those who have no voice (especially children); we voluntarily contacted the Fire Marshal and the Department of Human Services in this regard.

The State has used every means available to it to remove GOD from our children's public education.

We the church, have been incorporated by the State to religiously educate our members.

In opposition to itself, the State now attempts to renege on the terms for which we were incorporated.

We are operating as a church incorporated rather than a day care licensed.
